Well Ho-Ho-Ho-ly Cow last night was fun!  We played that Christmas show for the Empty Stocking Fund, and all the acts got a one hour set, and then a couple-song jam session at the end, collectively.  For that part, I sang John Prine's 'Angel From Montgomery', and it went great!  And now that I think of it, not one Christmas song!  Weeeee!  Oh, and I just drank water all evening and didn't struggle at all.  We'd had a good dinner before leaving for the show, (which you'll read about, below) so I wasn't hungry or lacking.

So today, I got up early, around 6:30 a.m. and had a glass of lemon water, and rinsed my broccoli sprouts.  I bought a new Biosta Sprouter.  See those little red caps?  Keep track of 'em.  'Nuff said. :)  I just put in one tablespoon of seeds per tray because they are so small and they tend to crowd, and I want to keep them as airy as possible.  They are fit to eat in 3 days or so, and will spend their last day on the planet in my juicer.  Poor little knobs.  That is some kind of karma, heh?

I made myself a giant bowl of fruit with soaked chia for breakfast (mango, banana, apple, and blueberries) and all those carbs and fruit sugars knocked me on my behind and I went back to bed and slept and dreamed those vivid dreams only the first weeks of raw detox brings.

It did make me think that I would do better on low glycemic index fruits, if I'm reacting that much!  Mind you, it was a giant bowl.

Well, not as giant as yesterday's lunch salad.  I used one of the larger silver mixing bowls.  I don't have the full set so I can't be sure, but I think it's the second largest one.  Here, maybe you can tell me...
Actually, the only way to tell anything about the size of the bowl is to see how it dwarfs my fork.  Anyway, this was a meal...fit for a hungry rawker.

For the dressing, I made Gabriel Cousens' Italian Dressing (pg 259, Rainbow Green...)  It is very good!

ITALIAN DRESSING:

1 large tomato
1 clove garlic
1/4 c water
1/4 c olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon fresh basil (I froze it from the other day's pesto pasta and it just crumbled in, was great!)
1/2 teaspoon fresh oregano (I used dried)
1/2 teaspoon Celtic salt

Blend.  Makes one cup.

So...I used it again in last night's supper salad, which I happily shared with my boyfriend, because I was kinda salad-ed out by then.

I also made hummus and eggless egg salad, which we enjoyed with Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Tortillas.  Delicious supper!

So all these leaves and good stuff must be pushing out the last few months of bad stuff to the surface. I mean, I know that is the path it takes, but I'm saying I think it's now in the process of happening.

I know that I've dropped 5 lbs this week!  Without a lick of hunger and obviously no portion control, lol, and with lots of desserts...lemon pudding, brownies, which I made twice...hello.  So that's nice.  This raw journey, for me, always comes when it's my health that is traveling down a road that will surely not lead anywhere good.  So the weight loss is always just a beautiful, added bonus.

I'll tweak and fiddle as my body adjusts and transitions, and I'll detox a few days, then surely feel a new surge of energy, and I'm so happy!  So happy to be traveling down this road again!

Join me!!

Hi SG!

It really *is* great to reconnect! I've been wondering if I should keep the board going, as I don't have much time to devote there. But who knows, now with being raw again...I usually have the energy of 10 (wo)men, lol... I would be good to visit again...

In any case, I'm so glad to hear you've been feeling energetic and great!
love you,
xo
